Wellcome Genome Campus Advanced Courses and Scientific Conferences is the only UK-based programme providing open postgraduate courses and conferences focused on biomedicine. Events are held in dedicated facilities at the Wellcome Genome Campus in Hinxton, a short distance from the historic city of Cambridge and home to the world-famous Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and EMBL-European Bioinformatics Institute.
Working with internationally-renowned scientists and clinicians from all around the world, we run events at the Genome Campus and in low- and middle-income countries. We aim to deliver events that educate, inspire, and transform careers.
Advanced Courses provide training in the latest laboratory techniques and data-analysis tools for PhD students, postdocs and clinicians. The programme is subsidised and bursaries are available for applicants from anywhere in the world.
Scientific Conferences foster discussion and debate at the cutting-edge of biomedical research, aiming to bridge the gap between basic and translational science.
Workshops provide intensive, interactive discussion and hands-on training across a range of biomedical research disciplines.
We run a number of courses and workshops outside of the UK, catering for regional research communities Latin America, Africa and Asia. Our overseas courses are free to attend and travel bursaries are available.
A series of fully-funded, invitation-only meetings that promote high level scientific discussion in an informal but intensive way. Retreats focus on forward-looking and emerging areas of scientific and technical interest, including associated policy issues.
